​Phytochemicals or Phytonutrients are compounds produced by plants. They are abundant in plant staples like fruits, vegetables and whole grains. They reduce inflammation like antioxidants,regulate hormones,helps DNA from damage, defense against pathogens, and so on. They differ from antioxidants eventhough some of the phytochemicals possess antioxidant properties.
